Our Matinee series offers patrons the opportunity to come along to the theatre and see high quality performances during the daytime that they may not otherwise be able to come to.

This year our Matinee Series offers a variety of fun and heart felt entertainment through a mixture of music, song and story-telling. 

The program commences with the all singing and all dancing The Dancin’ Man celebrating the quintessential song and dance Men that graced us on the stage and screen while taking you through the classic decades accompanied by a 3-piece band.

Next up is a special presentation of Bonegilla – The Migrants Journey which was created by Simon Reich who was inspired by his fathers survival of World War 2 and his immigration to Australia through the Bonegilla Migrant Camp near Albury-Wodonga. The show features interviews and images from many local migrants supported a string quartet.  Simon is in the audience tonight and would be happy to chat to you about this special project.

 The Royal Australian Air Force Band will bring their 40-piece ensemble to Wangaratta for an unforgettable afternoon concert that spans genres, from stirring patriotic anthems to light classics, contemporary hits and jazz.

The program finishes with award winning songstress, Danielle Matthews as she sings The Songs of Shirley Bassey. This powerful celebration of the music and life will include iconic songs Goldfinger, This is My Life, Big Spender, Diamonds Are Forever and Where Do I Begin.
